Synlait Pokeno

Synlait Milk, a young and disruptive dairy processing company based in Canterbury as been experiencing major success and with it came the need to upgrade their existing, New Zealand-wide, infrastructure. Recently, their growth has led to them expanding their nutritional powder manufacturing site in Pokeno, North Waikato. As part of the expansion, a new HVAC system was required to ensure the comfort of their factory workers while also providing effective temperature control throughout the entire facility. As part of the system we were focused on providing:

• An energy efficient, low-cost solution
• Powerful but quiet HVAC systems
• Facility-wide systems provided in a timely manner

What We Did
As sub-contractors, we were contacted to design and install an energy efficient system that can provide high-powered temperature control across the facility providing comfort to all workers while also maintaining the integrity of all products inside. During the 2-month project, we installed a 2 pipe Mitsubishi Multi VRF System in levels 1 & 2 of the facility to maximise climate control. We also installed a Heat Recovery & Fresh Air System for the building which minimises the waste of any heat that has been paid. The Heat Recovery System also allows different areas of the building to be heated and cooled simultaneously. Overall, the project was a great success.
